Faranak's recent research initiatives have focused on:
- patient and professional adherence with treatment recommendations
- care needs of older persons in emergency departments
- needs, goals and outcomes of family caregivers, and
- targeting of at risk older persons in residential care facilities
- fall prevention and the use of assistive devices
