Rondes gériatriques RGPEO
Le RGPEO s’engage à améliorer les soins gériatriques par l’éducation, la collaboration et l’innovation.
Les visites régionales offrent aux professionnels de la santé travaillant avec des personnes âgées – médecins, infirmières, prestataires de soins primaires, professionnels paramédicaux et autres – des mises à jour sur les meilleures pratiques, les initiatives et les dernières découvertes. Ces sessions, qui se déroulent à l’amphithéâtre du campus civique de l’Hôpital d’Ottawa et sont également diffusées virtuellement dans toute la région, comprennent une présentation de 45 minutes suivie d’une séance de questions-réponses de 15 minutes.
Les séances régionales de gériatrie ont lieu tous les mois dans l’amphithéâtre de l’Hôpital d’Ottawa, Campus Civic, 1053, avenue Carling, de 12 h à 13 h, sauf indication contraire. Ils sont désormais proposés dans un format hybride, permettant aux participants d’y assister en personne ou virtuellement via Teams. Toutes les personnes intéressées par les soins aux personnes âgées sont invitées à y participer.

The Clinical Value of Implementing the Candrive Risk Stratification Tool for Older Driver
Driving safety conversations are some of the most challenging moments in geriatric care. It requires clinicians to balance patient independence, safety, family expectations, and clinical responsibility, often without standardized support. This presentation will introduce the CanDrive Risk Stratification Tool (RST), a validated, evidence-based tool developed from longitudinal research to help clinicians communicate driving risk more clearly, consistently, and confidently. This session will share key validation findings, practical lessons from early clinical implementation, and a new opportunity for geriatric and memory clinics across Ontario to help shape how the tool is integrated into real-world practice. By bringing together clinical teams and leaders, this initiative aims to strengthen patient-centered decision-making, reduce uncertainty, and define best practices for broader implementation. Your perspective will play an important role in shaping what comes next.
